Kern County Superintendent of Schools

 KCSOS is providing a comprehensive induction program of support for new teachers. Beginning Math and Science teachers will participate in this enhanced model of new teacher support.

Program Highlights:
  • Mentors receive frequent professional development from program

  • New teacher seminars focus on content-specific pedagogy and instruction

  • Integration of theory and practice

  • New teachers are the priority of mentors; mentors receive release time in order to provide support for new teachers

  • Communication between district administrators and mentor regarding district-aligned professional goals for new teachers
