Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential
Eligibility Requirements
- Full-time teaching position with one of our participating districts in the specific subject named on the credential
- CBEST Passing Score
- Bachelor's of Arts or Science
- Verification of subject matter competency
- Fingerprinting clearance
- Prerequisite course, Framework for Teaching, must be completed prior to beginning the program.
- U.S. Constitution requirement

Teaching Practicum
Throughout both year one and year two, the interns' teaching experience is linked to coursework. It is the expectation that skills and knowledge gained in the methods courses be directly applied to classroom teaching. A Practicum Supervisor works one-on-one with each intern to facilitate this process.
